This past Tuesday I was able to take my activity days girls to Camp Jeremiah Johnson.  It was a blast!!  They got to go rafting, made a bracelet out of rope, build a boat and do the rain gutter regata, jousted, shot bb guns, learned to tie knots, and shot bows and arrows.  I absolutely LOVE my calling with the activity days girls.  I have a huge group of 18 amazing girls!!  For camp we had 22 girls total and 9 leaders.  It was nice to get away from the everyday busyness of life and spend a day in the beautiful mountains with some really great people.

Camping at the Ranch

I love this picture even though it's a little cloudy.  I left my camera in the van overnight.  When I brought it in it fogged up from being in the cold.  They almost look angelic....almost.

Wyatt showing off his "moose horns"

Wyatt loves to fish.  All he can talk about is going to catch a "Shark"

I can't figure out why Wyatt likes to wear his hat all cock eyed but he does.  I think it's hilarious!!

Just before we left Rich had taken the kids for a 4 wheeler ride.  I was standing at the cabin all by myself when I heard a crackling noise in the hill above me.  I looked up and saw a momma moose and her baby standing there.  Freaked me out a little.  All I could think of was that I was standing there all by myself, Rich and I had just shot all the bullets out of his gun and what would I do if the moose started to charge me?  Luckily they kept their distance and I was ok from just watching them from a distance.

Visit From Grandma, Hershey Track Meet and Last day of School

 Grandma and the grandkids.
While we were together we also took the opportunity to celebrate Uncle Jasons Birthday.  Lucky dog got to wear this big goofy sombrero.
The whole gang

Wow!! I didn't realize how behind I was on my blog till I just downloaded pictures off of my camera that I totally forgot that we had taken.  So Rich's mom came into town a few weeks ago to have some surgery done on her foot.  While she was here we took the opportunity to meet up with her.  She took us out to dinner.  We had a fun time.

This was the last year that McKenzie will be able to participate in the Hershey Track Meet.  She really didn't want to participate and the weather was bitter cold that day, but mean old mom made her anyway.  She did the long jump and actually did pretty well.  I wish I would have remember how long she actually jumped,  then she did the softball throw-didn't do so well because she was in a hurry to get to her next event but oh well.  She did participate in the 100 meter. However I did not get a picture of her.  Just as she came through the finish line I stepped onto the end of the track to take a picture just like all the other parents and got yelled at by one of the people running the meet.  Ugh!! I was so angry.  Needless so say I left a little ticked.  Like I said earlier, it was bitter cold and a little rainy the day of the meet so McKenzie stayed long enough to participate in her events and leave.  Bitter sweet, but a fun day I guess!

The last day of school for me was very hard.  I walked to get the kids from school which was good.  I was able to get myself composed before I actually got to the school.  I was very sad that this was McKenzies very last day as an elementary school student, this would be the very last year that McKenzie, Kaylie and Rylie will ever be in the same school....ever again!! and that this would be the last year that I would have all three of my girls so close to our home.  (The Junior High is clear in town.)  I am having a little anxiety knowing that in just a few short months McKenzie will be going to Junior High.  I think the same anxiety that I had when she started first grade.  All the worries of a parent and the what if's....What if she gets lost in the school? What if she doesn't make it to her classes on time?  What if she forgets where her locker is or can't remember the combination?  How is she going to handle gym class and having to shower?  How is she going to handle 7 different classes and 7 different teachers? How I am gonna have her to the bus stop by 7 am?   I hope she keeps her good friends and doesn't get mixed in with the bad crowd...UGH!!  So many variables and sooo many things to worry about as a parent.  I really wish I could just keep my kids little and in Elementary School, close to me forever.  As much as I would love for this to happen, unfortunately my kids are growing up and life is changing for me and for them.  And when school starts again we'll have to get into a new routine and a new life....life that includes Junior High.
