Last Day of School

McKenzie with Ethan J. This is the boy she has had a crush on ever since 2nd grade.

McKenzie with a couple of her best friends: Megan and Keilani

McKenzie and her teacher Mrs. Pardew

Kaylie and Rylie with their teacher Mrs. Broderick

These are the cute clipboards that I made the girls to give to their teachers. This was a fun little craft and they really loved them.

The big events in my life are always bitter sweet, and without fail I get teary every time for 2 reasons. First, times like this always make me realize what I miss out with Colton, and second it really makes me realize that my little girls are growing up and there's nothing I can do about it. Hehe!!

Kaylie and Rylie finished first grade this year. Their teacher Mrs. Broderick was AMAZING. She was always great at making sure that I knew what was going on in class and if there was problems to be dealt with she made sure that they were taken care of promptly. Kaylie and Rylie LOVED first grade and cried the last day of school because they already missed their teacher. I talked with their teacher on the second to last day of school and asked her if she was excited for summer vacation. She told me she was, but was more sad because she was going to miss the kids so much. It's teachers like that, that are the best.

McKenzie finished fourth grade. She also had a fun year. All the fun projects and field trips. She wasn't really looking forward to summer vacation either. Her teacher Mrs. Pardew always had fun class activities and she is also an amazing teacher. This year their theme was Harry Potter and each class was apart of the movie. They played quidditch and all the fun games that come along with Harry Potter. She did very well this whole year and made many good friends.

It's been a while since we'd seen them. (Last November) Then this morning we got to have breakfast with them too. It was a fun weekend. We always love to spend time with grandma.

Let's Go Fly A Kite

Kenzie trying to blow up her kite.

Rylie got discouraged because her kite wouldn't fly so she decided to play with Wyatt.

For Easter Grandma and Grandpa Godfrey gave the girls kites. Unfortunately, surprise, surprise we haven't had a windy enough of a day to be able to fly them. They ran and ran and tried and tried and no matter how fast they ran or if they was in the front yard or the backyard they just couldn't get them to fly. They had a great time trying and ran so much they was awfully tired by the end of the night. Good try girls!!

SheDaisy-Wax Museum

Today McKenzie had her wax museum assignment in school. She had to choose someone to learn about and then dress and act like a wax person. She choose to be Kelsi Marie Osborn-one of the singers from the Country group SheDaisy. She made a paper button you pushed and then she would recite what she learned about Kelsi. This is what she said:
"Hello have you ever sang in front of thousands of people? I'm Kelsi Marie Obsorn. I'm especially known for my singing, but let me tell you a little bit more about myself. I was born in Magna, Utah on November 21, 1974. In my youth I sold tickets to neighborhood shows. When I was 15 I started a band with my sisters. I loved singing in front of thousands of people. In my 20's I sang the Star Spangled Banner at Utah Jazz home games. You might find it interesting that I was married and had twin girls. I love to sing high harmony. That time of my life was a nice time. Thank you for pushing my button."

She also had to put together a brochure to hand out that gave information about the group SheDaisy and herself. She got together with a couple of girls from her class to form the group. It was quite the assignment but she surely had fun doing it.

Afterwards, the 4th grade sang a couple of songs about Utah and then did a square dance that they learned. It was a fun day for her.

Hershey Track Meet

McKenzie after the first heat. She tied for 1st.

Kenz talking to her dad on the phone after she won the semi-final.

Kenzie running the first heat.

Kenzie participating in the softball throw.

I am so proud of McKenzie. She competed in the Hershey track meet today with all the Fourth grades in the city. She ran the 50 Meter. She tied for first in the first heat which sent her to the semi-finals. In the semi-final she took first place. We thought she would go to the finals right? Wrong...they took the seven fastest times and they were the ones who competed in the final.
She did such an amazing job. I am so proud of her.
She also competed in the softball throw and did pretty well there too. She was supposed to compete in the standing long jump, but after running in the 50 meter she was so tired that she decided not to. She was pretty worn out by the end of the day.
GOOD JOB KENZIE!!!!

Happy Birthday Kaylie and Rylie

Happy 7th Birthday Kaylie and Rylie. We had lots of fun celebrating the twins' birthday this year. We celebrated their birthday on Tuesday. They chose lasagna, green salad and corn for their birthday dinner. I know most kids would choose pizza...not Kaylie and Rylie. Our home teacher surprised them with a Hannah Montana birthday cake that night. It was so much fun.
Then on Saturday we had a family birthday party. We barbecued hot dogs and had so much good food to eat. Kaylie and Rylie opened presents. Thanks to all our family for their fun presents. Then we sang happy birthday to the girls. I attempted to make a 'Barbie' Birthday cake. Didn't turn out too bad for an amature.
