Happy Mothers Day to Rich

Soooo, for Mothers Day I-I mean Rich got a puppy. Happy Mothers Day to Rich right?  He's been looking off and on but since we already have chickens I thought I was pretty safe that we wouldn't be getting a puppy in the near future.  Well, was I wrong.  He found these puppies on the internet, showed the picture to the kids-who instantly fell in love with them and was insistant that we would be getting a puppy.  How in the world do you say no to kids who are begging?  Especially Wyatt and his pease. pease. pease.  Ugh!!  I was backed into a corner.  Needless to say I lost and we are now the proud owners of a 6 week old black lab we named Samantha-Sammie for short.  Good thing she is so darn cute and soooo sweet.  She loves to cuddle.  You can't hardly walk without tripping over her.  She likes to walk between your feet and the best part (or Rich would say)  She'll be a good hunting dog.  Yeah, we'll see.  More like a best friend for the kids. 

School Carnival

Last Friday was the kids' school carnival.  Cosmo was there-even though we didn't get to see him.  There was a bunch of bounce houses-which you needed to purchase a $10 wrist band to jump in.  Thinking it was silly to buy one for the girls since they can jump on the trampoline for free.  But there was a few free things we could do.  Face painting just happened to be one of them.  None of the girls wanted to get their faces painted so for fun we got Wyatt's painted.  He decided he wanted to be a tiger.  He cried when they first started putting the paint on his face.  Thinking he didn't like the feeling of the paint on his face, but it turned out pretty cute.  What do you think??

McKenzie Piano Recital

McKenzie has been taking piano lessons for the last year from my good friend.  She is actually doing very well and has improved a lot since she started last year.  This year she played The Entertainer and then a duet with her teacher titled Bumble Bee.  Hoping I can figure out how to download the movie from my video camera so you can hear how well she's doing.

3rd Grade Hershey Track Meet

This year Kaylie and Rylie got to participate in the city wide 3rd grade track meet.  They didn't win but the best thing is, is that they tried and they had fun!!

Richs Turkey Hunt

McKenzies First Turkey Hunt

This year is the first year that McKenzie is eligable to hunt with her dad. She took the required hunters safety class and passed with flying colors.  So as the turkey hunt got closer both Kenzie and dad got excited.  They scouted for the "big" one for a few days before the hunt, and opening morning was dressed in all the camo garb and up and out the door at 4:30 in the morning.  I know crazy huh?  She killed her turkey at the crack of dawn opening morning of the hunt.  I got a phone call at 8:00 in the morning from a thrilled McKenzie that she had killed her turkey and boy was he a big one.  Lucky kid got to miss a day of school.  Her dad took her out to breakfast to celebrate and then off to the taxidermist to show off her trophy.  She made her dad pretty proud.
