This Easter weekend, we decided to take a trip to St. George to visit some of Rich's family who lives there. We were fortunate to be able to stay with Rich's mom and Neil. It was fun to be able to spend so much time with them, and they have a big beautiful home.
We got there about 6 o'clock Friday night. We were fed a great dinner and was able to visit and catch up on lost time. We swam until the late hours of the night and had so much fun. Wyatt we've decided is a little fish. He LOVES the water. Every time we would try and take him out he would shake his head and tell us "Mo" We were finally able to drag the kids out around 11 o'clock and hit the hay.
Saturday morning we went to the local pond on the golf course and fed the ducks. They kids had fun and Wyatt had a blast. If he would have had it his way he would have been in the water with the ducks. Every time he would throw a piece of bread or popcorn he would clap and say "yay." Then we headed up Snow Canyon and went for a hike. It is so pretty up there. Why they call it Snow Canyon I don't know. There was red rock and sand everywhere. We hiked up the mountain a little ways and on the way down stopped at a place called the Sand Dunes and let the kids play in the sand. Wyatt decided he wanted to do headstands and had a head full of sand. It took 2 baths and time playing in the pool to get it all out. We took some time to go visit Grandma Fowlke. It was so nice to be able to sit and visit with her. We haven't seen her in a few years and her health has not been good recently. It was so nice to see her. We played in the pool again that night. It was so fun and really great to spend some time with Neil and get to know him better.
Sunday morning after breakfast we had an Easter egg hunt. The kids had a blast and there was plenty to go around. We were lucky to be able to have lunch with Grandma Fowlke, Aunt Alaine and Uncle Dick. We haven't seen them in years either. It was nice to be able to reflect on the reason we celebrate Easter and the blessings we receive because of our Heavenly Father. And it was nice to be able to spend time with family we don't get to see as often as we'd like.
It was a super great trip. Thanks to Neil and Jan for opening their home to us and taking such great care of us. We had such a fun time and can't wait to do it again.
