Fall Time At the Ranch

We are so lucky to be able to jump in the car and be in the beautiful mountains within a matter of just a few minutes. Today after church we decided to spend some time at our property. The leaves are starting to change colors in the mountains. We couldn't pass up the opportunity to take some pretty pictures. The colors are so bright and vibrant this year. McKenzie wanted to take her bb gun so they could practice shooting at pop cans. McKenzie is getting to be quite the dead eye. She can hit the can almost every time. Notice how she holds her gun. Thumbs Up It is a little bit to big for her, but it makes her excited for when she can go hunting with her dad. All the girls had to take turns shooting the gun. Someday they will be great hunting partners for dad. We love going to our property so we can enjoy the great outdoors and good, quality family time.

Kaylie Finally Looses A Tooth

Kaylie finally lost her front tooth last night. Actually I had to pull it, but there wasn't anything holding her tooth in. She is sooooo stubborn when it comes to loosing teeth. It was so wiggly and her gums were so red. All I had to do was barely push on it and it fell right out--in fact she almost swallowed it. Rich was holding her down so I could get it out and I was trying to sit her up so she didn't swallow it. HA, HA. I am glad that we got that tooth out so it doesn't bug her anymore and I don't have to worry about her swallowing it.

Great Job Kaylie!!!

This week Kaylie was nominated by her teacher to get the SUPER STUDENT AWARD. Each month the teachers nominate a student from their class for an award that says 'students understand politeness encourages respect.' From there they are entered into a drawing. Then on "Super Tuesday" which is the second Tuesday of every month they do a drawing. The Super Student gets a certificate and $10. Kaylie also got a note from her teacher this week saying what a great friend she is to those in her class. We are so proud of you Kaylie and are so glad that you are aware of the kids who need a friend. You are a great girl. WE LOVE YOU!!!

Grandparent Program

Rylie likes to be in programs at school.
Kaylie singing her heart out.
I love this picture of Rylie and a little boy named
Tyler. The expressions on their faces are so funny.
Today Kaylie and Rylie had the dress rehearsal for their grandparent program at school. They sang a bunch of cute little songs about grandparents. They are having so much fun in first grade. I am so glad they are loving school.

Connelly Family Reunion

Last night was the Connelly family reunion. The girls had so much fun. We had sloppy joes for dinner and lots of yummy salads and desserts. Afterwards the girls played games with all the cousins and got to do a fishing booth. We love to get together with the family and see cousins we don't get to see very often. We also had to be sure and get a picture with McKenzie and Great Grandma and Grandpa Connelly. The girls love them so much and take advantage of every opportunity that they get to spend time with them.

New Dresses From Grandma

The girls got new dresses in the mail from grandma today. She got home recently from a trip to Mexico and sent the girls these dresses. They were so excited when they got home from school and saw the packages. Of course they had to put them on as soon as they opened them, and have a little fashion show. Thanks grandma for the new dresses.

First Day of School

I can't believe that the Summer vacation is officially over. The twins started first grade and McKenzie started fourth grade today. They were so excited to be back in school (for some silly reason I don't understand) I guess they really missed their friends. McKenzie was so excited to start school today she told me she was awake at 5:00 am. They were bathed, dressed, had eaten breakfast, did their chores and was ready to go out the door by 8 o' clock (even though school doesn't start till 9 am.) Too bad I couldn't have gotten them to do that all Summer. Kaylie and Rylie are in the same class this year, but their desks are not by each other. Their teachers name is Mrs. Broderick. I was super impressed that when we went to meet her yesterday she remembered that Kaylie and Rylie are twins even though they were not together. Kaylie and Rylie were excited to pack a lunch today even though pizza was on the menu. They wanted to see what it was like to pack a lunch. Ha, ha.
I can't believe that McKenzie is in the 4th grade. She makes me feel old. Her teachers name is Mrs. Pardew. This is her first year at the school. McKenzie was really excited to get her. She came to the school last fall and talked to the kids and told them that her interests were BYU football and disney princesses. McKenzie came home and told me this was the teacher she wanted because they had the same interests.
I hope the girls have a great year this year. I love you girls!!

Here fishy, fishy, fishy

We went to our property on Sunday afternoon for a hot dog and some good ole' family time. We always love to spend time together as a family and the girls especially love it when they get to go fishin' with dad. Time in the mountains are so peaceful and quiet. The girls always love to be dads "huntin pals" and had to help dad shoot his bow and then climb the mountain to retrieve the arrows. We are so thankful for our property in the mountains and that we have the opportunity to go there as a family and spend some good quality time.
