Spelling Bee

I am so pround of Kaylie.  She got to participate in the 3rd grade spelling bee.  5 kids out of every 3rd grade class competed and got to go to the 3rd grade school spelling bee.  She brought home a list of about 2000 spelling words that she was given two weeks to study.  Man, it was a lot of words and she studied almost every night.  She made it to the 3rd round spelling her first two words successfully.  On the 3rd round she was given the word "seize" which she spelled "sees."  What's up with this stupid english language anyway for so many words to sound the same but can be spelled 3 or 4 different ways?  She was sad she didn't win mostly because she wanted a trophy that the winners got but boy am I proud of her for doing so well and being so smart!!
