This year is the first year that McKenzie is eligable to hunt with her dad. She took the required hunters safety class and passed with flying colors. So as the turkey hunt got closer both Kenzie and dad got excited. They scouted for the "big" one for a few days before the hunt, and opening morning was dressed in all the camo garb and up and out the door at 4:30 in the morning. I know crazy huh? She killed her turkey at the crack of dawn opening morning of the hunt. I got a phone call at 8:00 in the morning from a thrilled McKenzie that she had killed her turkey and boy was he a big one. Lucky kid got to miss a day of school. Her dad took her out to breakfast to celebrate and then off to the taxidermist to show off her trophy. She made her dad pretty proud.
