This year we really enjoyed the Fiesta Days Celebrations which lucky for us also co-insides with the 24th of July holiday festivities. The celebrations last all week long. We attended the rodeo on Thursday night. Wyatt loved the animals but his all time favorite thing was the motorcycles. We were lucky to be entertained by the "Wild Child." He puts on quite a show. After he left the arena Wyatt spent the next five minutes saying" uh oh...a go?" He wanted to know where the motorcycle went. LOL!!
We mostly took advantage of the festivities on Saturday. The day started out with the parade on Saturday morning. The parade was really good this year. I was surprised that it lasted almost 2 hours. That's great for a small town parade. The kids came home with enough candy to last them till next year. Ugh!! Later on in the afternoon we ventured down town and made our way through the booths and carnival. We came across this quaint little "Pioneer Town". You'd think that after living in Spanish Fork for over 5 years I would have known about this? We just happened upon it by accident. I love learning about Mormon or Pioneer history. That kind of stuff just fascinates me. It was very interesting walking through this little "town" that has been created by a family in our City. It's interesting to me to see how people used to live.
While we were walking around we got a surprise phone call from Grandma and Grandpa Godfrey. They stayed and watched the kids ride the carnival rides and then treated us to dinner at the Amber. Poor Kaylie got sick from the carnival ride and was not able to enjoy her dinner. I think I'm pretty safe to say that she won't be riding a carnival ride like that again. Awwww, poor Kaylie!! She even lost the little bit of dinner she was able to get down.
We came home and rested for a little while...surprisingly enough Kaylie put herself to bed by 7:00 that night and when I woke her up a little later to see if she wanted to go see the fireworks she opted to stay home. She really must not have felt good. On our way downtown we got to see the Mapleton City fireworks. They did an amazing show. I would almost venture to say they were just as good as the Stadium of Fire. We waited and waited for Spanish Fork City to start their firework show. By 10:45 the show still hadn't started and McKenzie and Rylie (and mom) was very tired. All in all it was a super great day. I love spending time with my kids. They are definitely THE BEST!!

No way! That sounds so much fun. I love to hear about all the great things you take your kids to. Looks like I know which city I'm going to enjoy next year :)
