A Parade and a Carnival...fun, fun,fun!!

The kids waiting for the parade to start

Fun at the parade. The cannons were being shot behind them.

It was SO hot at the carnival. Wyatt was so tired and so patient.

Rylie and Kenzie on the ride. Kaylie wouldn't go because she said it went too fast. He,he!!

Rylie going down the big slide

Kenzie and Kaylie on the maze.

Today we decided to celebrate the 24th in our own home town with the parade and the carnival. It was perfect weather for the parade. A little windy and overcast. Not too hot and just perfect if you happened to get a little wet. hehe!! The kids had fun and scored on the candy. They will be on a sugar high for days. Afterwards we went to the carnival. Kenzie and Rylie rode a 'big' ride. Kaylie was afraid to ride it because it went to fast. She'll always be my more cautious one. She decided to go on the maze with the big slide at the end. All in all it was a great day. Hopefully we'll be able to stay awake long enough to see the fireworks tonight.

I'm so glad to be able to celebrate the pioneers and the amazing trek they made to give me the religious freedoms that I have. Every time I go to the mountains I am amazed at what treacherous country they faced. I know if I was a pioneer I never would have attempted to do what the did. I am so thankful for the time in which I live and the luxuries that I enjoy.

"My mind has turned to those early Saints who are too often lost to history, those who quietly and faithfully bore the kingdom forward through far more difficult days. So many of them seem almost nameless to us now. Most went unheralded to their graves—often early graves. Some few have made it into a line or two of Church history, but most have come and gone with neither high office nor history's regard. These folks, our collective ancestors, slipped into eternity as quietly and anonymously as they lived their religion. These are the silent Saints of whom President J. Reuben Clark once spoke when he thanked them all, 'especially,' he said, 'the meekest and lowliest of them, [largely] unknown [and] unremembered, [except] round the hearthstones of their children and their children's children who pass down from generation to generation the story of their faith'..." -Jeffrey R. Holland.
